Here’s a little background information on the ASIS coaches…
Joff Talbot
Skating has been Joff’s passion for the past 27 years. He’s been lucky enough to see the trends in skateboards change from the old fibreglass, plastic boards to the 7 ply of today.
Some of Joff’s favourite skaters include Rodney Mullen, Stevie Williams, PJ Ladd, Mark Gonzales and Danny Way. He would describe his skating style at the moment as ‘old school progressive’, mixing the old with the new. From slashing and carving to more tech. 50-50 front side board slides and the likes of.
Away from skating he loves snowboarding and throwing around his mountain bike, which provides a different fix. Other things that are close to his heart are youth work, reading, good food, his pet snake, and spending quality time with his friends, family and girlfriend. Overall Joff loves living life to the full and pushing the boundaries.
Samantha Bruce
Samantha has been skating for over 6 years and is one of the few UK female sponsored riders. She is currently sponsored by Vans, Route One skate shop, Ortega Skateboards and competes at various events across Europe.
Samantha is an assistant coach for ASIS and the assistant manager at Route One skate shop in Southampton. Her other acheivements include organising the Girls Skate Competition at NASS 08.

Will Isbister
Will started skateboarding when he was 8 and joined the pioneer in St Albans. He skated there for years as a kid, then after a short break pursuing another path (DJ’ing) he got back on the board and began helping at the Pioneer Beginner Skate Sessions.
In 2004 he took a year out to travel around Australia and skate as many parks as possible. After Having the best time in Oz he returned to the UK and got back into working various jobs including: Delivery Driving, Warehouse / Forklift work and covering for various coaches at the Skate School. Now, as well as coaching skateboarding for Action Sports In Schools, he also works at a Print and Design business and does the odd night shift at his local supermarket.
Richard Stansbie
Richard has been skating for over 20 years now and was once sponsored by IDEAL Birmingham. He is a BASI qualified snowboard instructor so has experience in teaching board sports. Richard is also an active member of the Lichfield Skatepark Association, working alongside other local councils to have a state of the art skatepark/plaza built in Lichfield.
Andrew Belson
Andrew began skating in year 7 at school with a group of friends. He’d picked up a demo of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and wanted to give it a go himself. The rest of his teenage years were spent skating around Romford town, mainly the Rom Skatepark and the old 70’s park. Now he mostly skates around Brentwood and his backyard ramp.
Aside from skateboarding he enjoys photography and has done freelance work for Sidewalk Skateboard Mag. He also plays guitar in a few bands, builds skate ramps and has recently started playing the drums.

Peter Frade
Peter started skating in 1978 at his local skatepark in Harrow, London, where he became one of the famous H-Boyz. He competed in the English Skateboard Association downhill events in 1982 where he placed 2nd. He now prefers skating bowls, pools, and midi ramps.
When he’s not skating, he plays bass guitar in a band with some of Death Skateboards team. Peter’s other interests include cars, motorcycles, motorsports and roadtrips.
